We assume that the change was made by Lourdes herself, she inserted the wording herself to now be a British citizen. Please leave. James Kevin McMahon (talk) 05:26, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- We can't just assume that the editor is actually Faberes herself. They removed information stated by Faberes in interviews. And even removed the quote from an article stating that she was 42 years old when the article was written in March 2017. I'm restoring the information. EDIT: I have read the sources and none of them explicitly state that she has British citizenship, unless someone wants to correct this. They describe her as being originally from the Philippines and how she now resides in the United Kingdom, but none outright confirm that she has British citizenship. Faberes being described as "British Asian" doesn't outright confirm this. Users are going to have to provide WP:Reliable sources that state this. Clear Looking Glass (talk) 22:54, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
Lede
[edit]Following the comment above, assuming that the change was made by Lourdes Fabares herself isn't acceptable/encouraged on Wikipedia, per WP:Conflict of interest. For example, Neil deGrasse Tyson claimed that he tried to change information on his Wikipedia article because it stated he was "atheist" but the edits kept being reverted, because primary sources and a conflict of interest are not allowed/encouraged on Wikipedia. Of course, this was almost a decade ago and Tyson's religious views are now well known.
One user keeps changing her lede, and IIRC, before claimed that there was "discussion on her talk page" about her lede sentence. I'm looking at her talk page right now and nothing on her talk page or the talk pages editing history provides a WP:Consensus stating that her lede can't mention her being Filipino or born in the Philippines. Per WP:CONTEXTBIO: "Similarly, previous nationalities or the place of birth should not be mentioned in the lead unless they are relevant to the subject's notability". Lourdes Faberes states that she was from the Philippines[1] (born/raised there) and then came to the United Kingdom in 1997 for university and now resides in the United Kingdom. No reliable source AFAIK has been provided stating that she has British citizenship, unless someone wants to provide one. A source calling her a "British Asian" or that she's from the Philippines and now residing in the United Kingdom doesn't confirm that she's a British citizen.
