Term for type of lands
[edit]Swampland is usually known as wetlands, which is a term related to what scientists now understand about the special ecology of such areas and how necessary they are to habitats and floodplains. I think this would be a better term to use in this article. Settlers associated swamps with what they perceived as wasted and barren land, and wanted to drain it for agriculture. Have also referred to swamp in the article, the preferred term for forested wetlands in WP. Parkwells (talk) 14:52, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
