Good Faith Edits and Compared with the Majority of vandalism on Wikipedia, not so bad

Sometimes I get the impression that Wikipedia editors forget about the first time user and are more interested in maintain some standard that doesn't apply to the article (in this case I read the conventions page relating to the article and still don't see how it is that much out of line with it). Maybe it's me, but I like to look at an article as if it was it was being read for somebody who has never used the Internet before in Malawi. If you actually read the page, not as Wikipedia editor, but as someone interested in getting information, does it really look A) that bad and B) better with the newer edits.

As to this article, it's Louise of Prussia and so just thought that everyone in it ought to be referred to as such. Naming conventions are meant for the names of the articles themselves and not how they are referred to on other articles. For using Princess X of X if she is the consort of a monarch was meant for the article naming but not universal to each page including this one. Just tried to make each one in line with the original title of this article. Having the extra category is because 2 entries (which is your so concern about this article, maybe start one for those instead) and so if users are trying to find information on Louise of Prussia that doesn't have a article, just one more avenue for them.

Read the standards and the article is line with ie. BLANK . Yes there is stuff here that is more then the name such the name in German but c'mon, if you don't see how that might be helpful/interesting to somebody wanting to know more about Louise of Prussia (which is the whole point), then you really aren't being true to the ideas of Wikipedia. Thank you for your advice to "mellow", but I was simply trying to engage a discussion with you rather than an edit war, which it seems like I finally have. First, this is not an article, it is a disambiguation page, and as such, there are guidelines which apply to it which have been hammered out with long consensus. There is no need to pipe the article names so they all say "Louise of Prussia" since that is the title of the page. What we are trying to do is help users distinguish between the many Louises of Prussia to find the one they want. There should only be one blue link per line - this has been established with long consensus. Yes, there are sometimes unusual occasions when more than one blue link is appropriate to the purpose, but this page is not one of them. If an entry is a redlink, one blue link is included so the user can find more information. This page is not the place for lots of interesting information about Louise of Prussia - the interesting information is in the articles. This page is like a signpost to point the way to the article a person needs. That is the purpose of a disambiguation page, and is "true to the ideas of Wikipedia" since it has been firmly established with consensus. SlackerMom (talk) 14:07, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
