I say this as someone who speaks good French, and has studied the period. I will spend a little time on it now, not willing to do a deep dive however. Feedback on readability would be welcome Elinruby (talk) 04:56, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Should be much better; left extensive notes in edit summaries about some judgement calls on terminology. Still needs references, which *would* require a deep dive. This was, by the way, a word-for-word translation from the corresponding French article. I have edited for readability, but my own edits were mostly looking at the French, and sometimes the French article's links to find out what in the world (mortar for example) or the articles I wikilinked in (committee). And a lot of grammar and word order, so not translation. Somebody should make sure the author isn't producing more of these as they are tedious to fix. I left the more at flag up; I added a few but there are s probably room for me or someone else to improve the categorization. Peace out Elinruby (talk) 11:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
