[edit]This article would really deserve to be translated in French. It describes a period of Canadian/Québécois history that many people have forgotten about, or have tried to forget about. At the time of Paquet, the clergy was highly influential and was among the most authoritarian in the whole Western world, in ways that some have compared to some of the more contemporary clerical influence in the Near and Far East.
