Suggestions
[edit]This place (of whatever type) is also known as (Luba OR Lougbao OR Louba OR Lgbo); a Google search including all the alternatives brings up more sources.
- http://www.fallingrain.com/world/a/L/u/b/a/ has population estimate as 2831
- http://wysinger.homestead.com/mapofafricadiaspora.html mentions it as Lgbo
- http://www.sitesanalytics.com/site/randafricanart.com also has it as Luba (though this might be the 'other' Luba, of course (Congo))
- http://minerals.usgs.gov/minerals/pubs/country/2004/ctivtomyb04.pdf
- http://homes.chass.utoronto.ca/~nnunn/empirical_slavery_appendix.pdf
Of course it's important to weed out the Google hits referring to the Congo Luba / tribe Luba, but, with some reasonable effort, it should be possible to expand this article (and all the others like it).
It would be nice to see some history of the place / area (maybe something in some slavery records, perhaps?) and a few more details about the geography of the surrounding area. If this isn't done by someone (and no, I'm not volunteering!) then all we will ever have is just the current three-liner, which is hardly encyclopaedic. If not enough i nformation can be found to create more than one short paragraph, it would be better to have an article on The arrondissements of Benin (or something), and push all these mini-stubs into one more decent and encyclopaedic article. It could be a simple table, (sortable by both alpha and population would be cool). No reason why the sections within that proposed article can't be expanded a bit in situ, and only split something off if it turns out that there's a significant amount of information on it that would be enough to base a decently encyclopaedic entire article on.
