Left luggage

[edit]

Currently, Left luggage redirects here, but I think this may be incorrect. I believe this is the term used for temporary luggage storage, e.g. at a "Left luggage counter". I guess most of these counters are being replaced by the automated storage lockers. Ewlyahoocom 21:32, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Luggage tracking systems

[edit]

I think that there should be a section covering the luggage tracking systems that give a secure method of enabling the finder of your lost luggage to get in contact with you. The problem that these services address is the security issue of having your home address written on your label as well as having an easy and quick way to contact the owner. There is a free service at http://www.bagsreunited.com that connects the finder and owner by a unique luggage id via a website with the owner getting a cell phone text message when the item is found. There are others i've found also which are not free but do something similar like http://www.i-trak.com. These systems are suplimentary systems to airport tracking systems and rely on the good nature of the person finding the item to get in contact.

rewrite

This article needs a major overhaul. It is focused on airlines and does not even mention trains, cabs, buses or ships which also have this problem. Vegaswikian 07:52, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
