Question for clarification: Were there only 12 ways?
[edit]The article says that "Under the 1947 citizenship laws, there were 12 ways that Canadian-born persons could lose citizenship", and then it lists 12 ways. Is this a completely comprehensive list – were there no other ways – or is this just a list of ways that some people consider undesirable? For example, was it not possible to renounce citizenship? —BarrelProof (talk) 02:08, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- Never mind. I think I understand it now, and have clarified the text accordingly. It is a description of ways that the 1947 law could cause someone to become a non-citizen who would otherwise have been considered a citizen. If that's not the correct interpretation, please respond. —BarrelProof (talk) 02:27, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Is this item accurate
[edit]One of the listed cases is this:
- An unregistered "border baby" – a person with Canadian parents who were born in U.S. hospitals and not registered.
That it matters that the parents were born in U.S. hospitals seems slightly implausible, so I wondered whether it should say this:
- An unregistered "border baby" – a person with Canadian parents who was born in a U.S. hospital and not registered.
Also, that is matters whether the place of birth was a hospital rather than some other location in the U.S. seems strange, so I wonder if that's what the law actually says. Michael Hardy (talk) 18:38, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
Mennonites
[edit]The article currently mentions
- ... Mennonites who have been refused citizenship by the Canadian government.
No explanation is given why the Canadian government refused citizenship to Mennonites, specifically. The statement is sourced to a dead web link. Can someone clean this up, if possible including a little more explanation? --Trovatore (talk) 18:02, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
