Change article title

[edit]

I think this article should be changed to "loss and damage (disambiguation)" and the primary topic should probably be loss and damage (climate change) or loss and damage (law). The page views of loss and damage (law) / damages have been dropping of late, whereas the page views of loss and damage (climate change) (formerly loss and damage) have been rising. What do you think of my suggestion from 17 December above, User:Herostratus and User:Sionk? EMsmile (talk) 12:30, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, my conclusion from all the discussion was that there wasn't a primary topic. Possibly the climate change term was more popular at the end of last year because of the international climate change conference. Mind you, I'm trusting that "loss and damage" is a legal term, because it isn't mentioned on the Damages article... Sionk (talk) 12:45, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would argue that the climate change term is the primary topic (more so than the legal term) but what methods would be used to prove this? See also WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Pinging User:Richarit and User:InformationToKnowledge in case they have an opinion. EMsmile (talk) 13:02, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with putting CC as the primary topic for the page because there is a quite specific definition. In legal pages the terms losses and damage seem to be used more interchangeably. Richarit (talk) 15:48, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so I've made that change now and have made loss and damage (climate change) the primary topic for "loss and damage". EMsmile (talk) 13:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
