The importance of the Mexican musical group, Los Hermanos Castro is of great importance because Los Hermanos Castro were the first Mexican singing group to break-into the main line entertainment arena in the United States during the mid to late 1960s. Los Hermanos Castro have performed with Judy Garland, you can buy the video / CD on line at Amazon.com, also with Paul Anka and many more American first line performers. The group had a number one hit "You Sin Ti" that hit he top 10 Bill Board, and that to this day is still performed by many singers throughout the world. Los Hermanos Castro are very well known throughout Mexico and Latin America. It would be an insult to Mexicans, Latin Americans and Americans to delete this important and historical musical group from Wikipedia. To this day Los Hermanos Castro are still performing. Requesting RfC on Charting Issue
[edit]WP:A7 speedy deletion was denied because of claim of 10 ten Billboard charting, but I cannot find any evidence for that claim. Could someone who knows where to look for sure please check it out and, if claim is false, retag it with {{db-band}}? TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 19:43, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm seeing one top 10 "Un Hombre y Una Mujer", here are all of the times they have been in Billboard, the first 3 on page two all have charts containing "Un Hombre y Una Mujer". On the other hand this one goes a long way to establishing notability. J04n(talk page) 21:00, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- I added in a couple of references but I'm going to remove the bit about "Yo Sin Ti" reaching number one in the USA, they did release it and it charted in the US but it wasn't their version that charted. J04n(talk page) 00:37, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Keep in mind that speedy deletion under A7 doesn't require the claim to be verifiably true, just that it exists and isn't complete nonsense. You'll probably have to go through full AfD. This article seems very promotional, though that isn't a reason for deletion; just editing. It may indeed fail notability, though... I don't know much about music notability. No Mention about their own place: "The Forum"
[edit]This page does not mention they had their own cabaret in Mexico City main avenue (Insurgentes avenue) called "The Forum", where they played for quite some time. The place was an elegant one and the audience was select and mostly appreciative. Neither is a maention of a group called "Castro's-74" (around 1975-76) that was almost a copy of the Sergio Mendes group "Brasil-77", with two female singers and a Bossa-Nova style reminiscent of them. In any case, the Castros were a fine group that had strong musical underpinnings and extremely well polished voice arrangements. They still play individually, but the original group has never been reassembled. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.100.180.19 (talk) 19:29, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
