Look and Read fan site
[edit]I've just restored the link (using Wayback Machine) to the fan site which is was probably the best web source on the programme. According to this page the site is coming back soon. Does anyone happen to know what happened to the old page and if this new site is replacing it?--Thetriangleguy 14:29, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject?
[edit]Hi, I was wondering if there would be enough interest in Look and Read topics for a WikiProject to be created. The few articles that exist on the series are pretty bad, and inconsistent in how they are written, and in quality. I could go it alone, but was wondering if anyone was interested in helping. - Rather sadly, I'm not sure if there is enough interest for such a wikiproject despite the fact the programme must be one of the most widely watched programmes in UK television, given that practically every child who has grown up in the country over at least the last 30 years has probably seen it. Quite a few of the articles were written by me and I apologise for the writing. I believe I wrote them pretty quickly and intended to edit them down after (Admittedly I didn't recall that I started this article until I looked at its history!). I realise now that this was a pretty poor method. I'd say the main problem with the ones I edited is how poorly sourced they tend to be (when I started them I obviously didn't really get the importance of that). Going through the individual series I tried to start at the beginning and work through them. This turned out to be a TERRIBLE idea. At first, I should've stuck to the serials with which I was familiar before going back to the early ones. The two serials I managed to do before realising this are really poorly laid out and once again, very poorly sourced. (I believe I used the fansites and the original pamphlets, which used to be available for download from lookandread.myby.co.uk but I can't seem to be on the new site.) I shall certainly keep an eye out for what you are doing and assist if I can.--Thetriangleguy (talk) 13:57, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
