Loogie
[edit]As a teacher of both elementary and secondary kids I use Wikipedia extensively in my classroom as a source for school research.
I also have a sense of humor but when one of my students pulled up 'loogie' with the preceding vulgar, crude and simply misguided text I felt the need to provide a revised edition.
In such a fine resource as Wikipedia submitters of articles need to exercise some self-restraint or the whole enterprise becomes an unreliable, insincere 'reality' show.
So, to those who delight in the crude, vulgar and obscene, I suggest that you place your articles where they are most appropriate - on your mother's web-page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.113.35.240 (talk • contribs) 01:30, 1 October 2005.

Removed
[edit]I deleted some of the content, which consisted of original research. This article still sucks, but less so now. --Xyzzyplugh 22:36, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
A silly Americanism.
[edit]This is not used anywhere else in the world. And should be removed from the the category: vocabulary.
This article defines what is so great about Wikipedia. Good luck finding 'Loogie' in your Collier's!
"Silly Americanism," "This is not used anywhere else in the world."? How do you know? Why wouldn't it be used anywhere else? It's a natural proccess which actually helps you to do it if you're sick. That was a complete waste of time to write that; it was narrow-minded and racist. Also, what's with the line, "...Produces a temporary feeling of power in the loogie-hocker."? Why would that make somebody feel powerful? I don't feel like when when I hock loogies, and I've hocked plenty today, as I have a congestive-related illness.--WatchHawk 00:50, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

To add to article
[edit]In order to help make this article more properly encyclopedic, shouldn't we add such basic information as the etymology and earliest usages of this term? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 02:40, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
