[edit]The first revision of this page included at the bottom "This entry was originally from the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica." I believe the text it is referencing can be found at s:Page:EB1911 - Volume 16.djvu/1008 While I was looking for this, I also discovered Longman, Thomas, which may be Encyclopedia Britannica's source. Note especially their mutual use of the word "gentleman". Sondra.kinsey (talk) 20:55, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
