Requested move 27 June 2020
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Withdrawn. London Regiment converted to disambiguation page as suggested. (non-admin closure) Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:52, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
.London Regiment (1908–1938) → London Regiment – Move over the current redirect. We should not have a situation where London Regiment redirects to London Regiment (1908–1938) with a hatnote to London Regiment (1993). If London Regiment (1908–1938) is the primary topic, and I think it is, it should be moved (back) to the base name. Note there are may incoming links to the current redirect London Regiment. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:52, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- Comment - I am not sure that London Regiment (1908–1938) is the primary topic. For those people serving in the regiment, the primary topic is more likely to be London Regiment (1993). I would suggest that London Regiment becomes a disambiguation page and that the incoming links are redirected to the most appropriate article ((1908–1938) or (1993) as appropriate). Dormskirk (talk) 13:24, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- I would also be happy with that alternative. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:22, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
