Personal Preference

[edit]

I think someone went in and edit the page. There are many uses of personal words that describe her

Well I think the vandilisim is back, it's up there again, I don't know how to update it personally, was just passing through. 77.240.81.20 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 21:17, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning

[edit]

any explaination as to what the song means? the chorus doesn't really make sense.--Trainwrecka 03:06, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering that myself - it's presumably innuendo of some kind, but for the life of me I can't work out how. Although, in the video, "my london bridge wanna go down" is accompanied by her on her knees as if performing oral sex. That fits with the "go down" part, but still leaves me scratching my head as to what the "London Bridge" part is all about. 62.30.51.174 23:50, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a lame urban sexual slang term. Slang terms can easily be found by using Urbandictionary.com. jordan her secret boyfriend everyone should think that Fergie is sexy term=london+bridge. The first definition is correct: "When someone makes your "London Bridge fall down", they are making you very hot. (sexual)." According to Pitchfork, the slang was first popularized by rapper/comedian, Biz Markie.[1] 06:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Fergie herself said she never gave a specific meaning to the song other then it having a sexual meaning. She said she'd let everyone else come up with what they think it ment. --Ted87 06:52, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say it's pretty clear. Her lover "goes down like London Bridge". It's a cunnilingus reference, yeah? 143.252.80.100 11:51, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bunch of drug references too. Popping seeds is slang for taking pills, and the whole speech slurring thing is there too. 60.240.163.146 11:42, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the speech slurring is just from regular drinking: "the drinks start pouring and my speech starts slurring". Lizard Dude 07:24, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To be totally honest, I don't think the meaning needs to be discussed in detail. The wording currently present is terribly awkward, and I don't think it really adds much to the article. Perhaps someone could remove that portion? Topperray 19:36, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anglo phobic

[edit]

Does anyone know if the singer has a dislike because i cant understand why someone would name the song and lyrics in this way.

I certainly know that the song and video offend me as an American of English descent.  :) In the words of my ancestral people, cheers, mate, it's just a silly little song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.201.173.125 (talk) 05:14, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Off topic

[edit]

Not that I'm a fan of the US but what does the comment "This can be seen as an example of 'alleged' American ignorance of foreign affairs and culture" have to do with the song?? Simply sounds like someone getting their two cents in about America.

London Flag?

[edit]

Now, I'm pretty sure that there would be a flag of London or whatever, but I watched the video and I saw the Union Jack, the flag of the United Kingdom, on her underwear. Can anyone confirm this?

yes it is in fact the union jack that is on her underware

the flag of london looks like this <IMG SRC="http://www.allstates-flag.com/fotw/images/g/gb-lond.gif" ALT="Flag Of London"> and this the union jack <IMG SRC="http://www.anbg.gov.au/images/flags/union-jack.gif" ALT="Union Jack">

I'm correcting the article, as the use of 'Union Jack' is inaccurate; the flag is properly referred to as the 'Union flag' unless flown at sea.

Tower Bridge

[edit]

Is it perhaps worth mentioning a certain controversy surrounding the video - namely that throughout the video it was clearly Tower Bridge shown throughout & not actually London Bridge?

Cholas??

[edit]

This isn't the first place that i've seen people say her dancers was latina.. who are they?? They look polynesian to me..too dark and looks totally different from a white skinned chicana. -missmarymack —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.153.29.162 (talk) 11:28, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Fergie single londonbridge(uk).jpg

[edit]

Image:Fergie single londonbridge(uk).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. London Bridge by Bread

[edit]

Although no relation to this single, the second track off Bread's debut album should be mentioned somewhere. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_(album) gooman 09:35 07 October 2008 (UTC+12) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gooman (talkcontribs) 20:38, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If there is no relation, then why on earth should it be mentioned? 82.4.242.104 (talk) 09:45, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
