[edit]Surely some of the conversions of fahrenheit to celsius are wrong? Look closely. i would correct myself, but am in internet cafe and only got coupla minutes left of credit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.234.16.130 (talk) 05:25, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Recent Controversy
[edit]Removed part on Roberts/Spirling book: article is about London Borough of Sutton, not its waste collection or its council officers. Also, "Recent Controversy" seems a stretch: no actual controversy has resulted, and discussion seems like political point-scoring. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rotater (talk • contribs) 22:45, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Friendly?
[edit]The article states "Sutton is a friendly community". How is this quantified? Deckchair 13:57, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- It can't be. I took the liberty of removing that paragraph. Hammer Raccoon 22:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Cultural Attractions etc
[edit]At present, there are only three of these included. Do historical sites (like Carew Manor, or the parks at the sites of Oaks House and Nonsuch Palace; not to mention Whitehall house, which is fairly well known, Carshalton Ponds, etc, quite besides minor historical/artistic sites, and the libraries (eg Cheam, Wallington) not count? (If they count I will add them). (RJ Gordon (talk) 17:25, 3 January 2008 (UTC))
- The parks and open spaces are listed under Sutton parks and open spaces, I'd probably add minor historical and artistic sites if they have any notability. I'd probably list libraries separately as local authority amenities. Generally, it's better to introduce these things as a couple of paragraphs of prose, rather than lists. At an early stage in an article's development, that can be difficult. HTH Kbthompson (talk) 18:40, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Weather info is wrong
[edit]Title says it all! The Summer temps should be around the 20C mark. Compare with the temps on the London page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.149.160.20 (talk) 13:38, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Reference
[edit]How is it justified to use a reference from a lettings website in the page, even as a placeholder whilst a proper citation is found.? Surely not a [WP:RS] ? IMHO nothing is better than something un-reliable, so please revert User:A P Monblat See http://www.net-lettings.co.uk/london-property-news/articles/sutton-the-third-safest-borough-in-london-3134 SovalValtos (talk) 09:50, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- I thought [better source needed] was for precisely this sort of situation. However, I don't feel strongly about this point, and will revert. A P Monblat (talk) 10:12, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- Better source now found and added. A P Monblat (talk) 11:06, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reversion. Several references come from the borough press office or Comms. dept. Are they independent and is there a COI? SovalValtos (talk) 11:39, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for raising this, but I don't see a problem here. It is a Govt body, and all it is doing in this case is reporting facts from a polling organisation. A P Monblat (talk) 12:51, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
