Created "Lollipop Discography"
[edit]I created "Lollipop Discography" page to separate Lollipop F's Discography, and to link this page to Qiu Wang Zi and Liao Xiao Jie's pages. Therefore, this page is exclusively for Lollipop's Discography prior to Lollipop F and JPM.
I believe that some of my Chinese translations are not translated properly since I only used Google Translate; so if someone knows Chinese, I will be asking for your help. Better sources/references are also needed. Lastly, grammatical/punctuation errors may be present, and information may be lacking. I hope to see more Wiki editors in this page. Thanks!

Scope of article
[edit]Hi, I visited this page to help with copyediting. I'm not sure about the scope of this article - it appears to list concerts as well as musical releases, possibly extending it beyond the usual scope of a discography. I've checked the discography guidelines, and they don't suggest inclusion of this material. As I'm not active in editing music pages, I'm not sure of the best way to resolve this issue, but thought I'd flag it up for someone else's attention. Crinoline (talk) 10:42, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Copyedit notes
[edit]2nd paragraph - I'm not clear if the six members were selected for or from the talent show. Please correct this if I've got it wrong. Crinoline (talk) 11:09, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
3rd paragraph - I wanted to include a link for EMI-Capitol, but it is not clear which of several articles this should link to. Crinoline (talk) 11:20, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Translations from Chinese: as the article creator requested help with this, I have had a quick look. I'm also not fluent in Chinese, but have noted the folowing - perhaps they will help a Chinese speaker to improve the page another day:
- 棒棒堂 (the name of the band) sounds like 棒棒糖 (which may be the usual Chinese word for Lollipop). I assume this is a play on words. The version used in the article is definitely the correct name for the band, based on Chinese Google results.
- 哪裡怕 (album title, translated as Gyashan) has the pinyin na3li3pa4, which I think translates as something like "Never Fear" or "Where's fear?". I'm not sure why the romanised name of the album is so different and what it might mean. Someone might want to check it, but I'm sure there's some sense to it. The translation "Where Fear" is used in the discography table.
- 在這裡等你 (F4's album title) - I'm not sure if "Waiting for You – Await Your Love" is the article author's translation or the given English title for the album. The original Chinese doesn't seem to be about love: "Waiting here for You" might be the best translation?
- 黑糖瑪奇朵 Brown Sugar Macchiato and 黑糖群俠傳電視原聲帶 The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries, though they sound odd in translation, have their own Wikipedia pages, so I'm assuming these are the accepted translations.
- 大豬頭 Big Fool, as given in the original article, is probably a better translation than the more colourful and literal "Pig Head", given that pigheadedness denotes stubborness, not idiocy, in English. I don't know what 'pig head' means in Chinese.
- 變身三分鐘 Transform in 3 Minutes - might be better as "Three-Minute Transformation"? Also, other translations might be possible and more obvious to a native Chinese speaker.
- 藏經閣 (not given a translation in the article) - this appears to refer to a place where sacred (Buddhist?) scriptures are stored, which would make sense as the TV show is on a martial arts theme. Possible translations could be "Sacred Library" or "Scripture Store".
- 綜藝咖 (Variety Coffee) - I'm not sure about the translation of this. I think the 'variety' probably refers to a kind of entertainment known as 'variety', and I'm not sure if the 咖 actually refers to coffee. It might translate as "Entertainment Grade" or similar.
- 說說 Zong Yi Ka - the romanisation doesn't appear to fit the characters. The characters seem to translate to "Say Something", and I can't find any obvious phrase to match the romanisation, nor any word for comedian that would fit.
- 夢想出發 (The Dream Embarks - DVD title) Might translate better as "The Dream Begins"? Crinoline (talk) 13:03, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Discography style guidlines
[edit]The discography style guidelines suggest including peak chart positions in discography tables - someone may wish to add this feature. Crinoline (talk) 11:16, 11 November 2014 (UTC) This is the list of charts, but I couldn't find any Taiwanese charts on it - this may be a limitation of the list rather than a criticism of Taiwanese charts?
