The contents of the Logan City Jets page were merged into Female Gridiron League of Queensland on 05 Jan 2014. For the contribution history and old versions of the merged article please see its history. |
Any assistance with my first contribution appreciated. The Logan City Jets historical significance is they were the first women's American Football team to win a premiership in the first ever sanctioned women's American Football league in 2012.
- There have been sanctioned leagues prior to that. So, it's the first sanctioned league covering what area? As a rule of thumb, if the league isn't notable, the teams in it aren't notable;
I don't see an article for the league.—C.Fred (talk) 16:45, 29 August 2013 (UTC) - There wasn't an article for the league before. There is now, but it's up for deletion for lack of notability. —C.Fred (talk) 16:50, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
The Female Gridiron League of Queensland is the FIRST sanctioned women's american football league in Australia. Hopefully issues surrounding the Female Gridiron League of Queensland notability have been addressed now, so Logan City Jets significance as first ever WINNER in the guest ever league in Australia should be cleared up now. Appreciate your help C.Fred. I am a newbie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pgollan (talk • contribs) 01:33, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced that the team is notable. It's a small league, and if I read the history right, Logan City is one of the teams driving the league. It's not a league-ownership-of-teams situation like with some incarnations of Arena Football, but it's intertwined. I don't think there's enough on the teams to warrant separate articles; instead, coverage could be included in the league's article, which would boost its size. (In other words, I wouldn't delete this article, but I'd merge it to the league's.) —C.Fred (talk) 02:58, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
The league is sanctioned by GQ, GA and IFAF. Logan City Gridiron Football Club has 2 teams and 2 other separate GQ clubs have teams in the league. LCGFC coordinates the league draw etc. The first women's team EVER to win a premiership in the first league EVER in Australia is notable. Perhaps on an exception basis, but things don't always fit neatly into a box. Women's gridiron is growing rapidly with about 13 new teams across Australia now. Important we document where it all began while the facts are clear. Pgollan (talk) 04:42, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
