In the UK a Locomotive engineer is a person who designs, builds or repairs locomotives. The term is never used for a driver. The redirection to Railroad engineer is therefore completely inappropriate for a UK reader. See also Chief Mechanical Engineer. Biscuittin 20:18, 9 April 2007 (UTC) See Talk:Railroad engineer. I have amended the Locomotive engineer page to UK usage, with a link to Railroad engineer for US usage. Biscuittin 12:52, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Shouldn't this article just redirect to Railroad engineer since the term 'locomotive engineer' is in common use in US.
Or just make a disambig page - there is no need for this article. The term the article describes is a locomotive designer.
Also what about engineers who repair locomotives etc - I think this should be a dismabig page.FengRail (talk) 01:08, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
I've tried to cover all the different options - see the coversion of this page to a disambugation page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by FengRail (talkcontribs) 01:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
