Definition
[edit]Definition: Can the L.S.D. be considered a "unit of municipal government.." in NB as it is stated? There is an argument against the claim on a number of grounds, least of which is that 'Municipal' means self-governing, which is the say that there is a system of self-governance in place. However, no decision making or any particular authority is granted by the Province of NB to LSDs. It's preferable, therefor, to use the words 'local government administration' or 'local governance'. It's at the local government level, and, it is principally an administrative unit for the purposes of taxation and provincially provided services and programs at these (LSD) local levels. While it is true that local service districts (which largely adhere to parish boundaries) can from and 'Advisory Committee', the Committee as the name implies serves an advisory role and do not have inherent authority to affect local taxation or provide services unilaterally. I have gone ahead and made this change as it's doubtful given this is the first talk entry that it will generate a lot of talk.Placeographer77 (talk) 12:44, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

[edit]I believe that the accessibility of the article has been degraded with the addition of very specific information by G. Walton. Although I believe we may learn from the information gathered, and that it includes and understanding that will benefit the article, the quality of the article has been reduced. The appropriateness of the information in sequence is questionable and it is not evident where the information originates given the specificity to each of the locales themselves. The contribution have made for the article's departure from the practice of "general to specific" sequence, hindering the accessibility to article viewers and visit experience.
We are concerned with the LSD in New Brunswick, not each of the LSDs in New Brunswick nor every piece of the LSD landscape - what is the picture that can be painted with regard to the LSD? Is this a fair premise to guide the article development? Placeographer77 (talk) 13:55, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
concerns
[edit]A result of this de-coupling of the community centers from the surrounding countryside has been to fragment the local government political landscape which makes for dysfunction around matters of a regional concern.Placeographer77 (talk) 22:39, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
