Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that Magistrates court (Northern Territory) be merged into Local Court of the Northern Territory. The old courts were renamed the Local Court by the Local Court Act 2015 (NT) and magistrates are now judges of that court. Whilst there are other courts such as the Youth Justice Court, judges are appointed to those courts by virtue of being a local court judge. I note that there have not been any substantive changes to the Magistrates Court page since at least 2014. I don't expect this to be controversial and will perform the merger is nobody objects within 30 days.
