Re: Discussion on merger

[edit]

It is my opinion that the merger should not occur. This is because Lo Wu Control Point and Luho Port are in different locations - they may share a border, and Hong Kong may be an SAR of China, but the former is in Hong Kong - a very separate country from China, and the other is in China. Were they both in the same country, I would support the motion.

In response to any possible claims that Hong Kong and PRC ARE the same countries, I reply by stating that were they the same country, then Chinese entrants could move in and out of Hong Kong without so much as needing an ID Card - the fact that they do need an ID Card, means that Hong Kong is separate from China.

Because Luho Port and Lo Wu Control Point are in separate countries, they are entitled to separate articles.

It is my submission, therefore, that this motion should be rejected. --Thehistorian10 (talk) 19:02, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. They are two facilities of separate authorities on the two sides of the border. 116.48.84.173 (talk) 12:55, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
