The fair use photo of Lloyd Pollock was removed with this edit without an edit summary or explanation why. The photo was again removed with this edit, with the edit summary stating "The image previously shown here is not Lloyd Pollock". According to the Lloyd Pollock photo archive on the Windsor / Essex County Sports Hall of Fame web site, the image is correct. I am hoping for further rationale as to why the photo is believed to be incorrect, when it is supported by the local hall of fame. Also, I welcome comments on other photos in the same hall of fame gallery. Flibirigit (talk) 00:49, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - my name is Colin Stein. I am Lloyd Pollock's youngest grandson. The image for Lloyd Pollock posted on http://wecshof.org/inductees/lloyd-pollock, reproduced on your Wikipedia entry for him, is wrong. Can you please remove it, and replace it with this (http://wecshof.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Lloyd-Pollock-Windsor2.jpg)? I have emailed the Windsor Essex County Sports Hall of Fame to ask them to remove the photo from their website as well, and replace with a correct image. In addition to seeing the clear differences in facial structure and features between the hockey player and the correct image of Lloyd, you can also compare his date of birth (1909) with the apparent year of the photo for this Windsor Spitfire player (would have to be 1940s or 1950s) - this player is a junior hockey player younger than age 25, whereas Lloyd would have been in his 30s or 40s. Lastly, Lloyd never played amateur or professional hockey. Thanks in advance for making the requested change. Colinmstein (talk) 03:26, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
@Colinmstein: Thank you for the detailed reply, I found it more constructive than the photo being removed. I have no opposition to substituting the image, and will work on it shortly. Flibirigit (talk) 03:32, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Flibirigit: Thank you in return for your prompt action. If you would like some other images to choose from, please let me know how I can send them to you (email/web upload). cheers. Colinmstein (talk) 03:36, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You could upload a different file if you are comfortable doing so. I suggest reading up on photo licenses here if you're interested. The alternate photo from the hall of fame web site seems sufficient and probably less hassle for you though. Flibirigit (talk) 03:55, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have updated the article with the substituted photo, and more illustrations as well. Since you have stated you are a family member of Pollock, I suggest asking for edits to the article to be made by commenting on this talk page because you could be interpreted as having a conflict of interest. Please see WP:COI for details. I'm willing to listen to suggestions if needed. Flibirigit (talk) 05:57, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
