Assessment, start class for now

[edit]

I assessed this as a mid-importance article for the Wikiproject Musical Instruments, as a musical instrument designer of some importance. I rated it a start because it has content and sesctions and photos. It needs more of everything including refs. If you improve it and want reassessment or need help or have questions, please drop me a line.Jacqke (talk) 17:27, 19 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thile's Loar

[edit]

Is there a link that can substantiate this information about Chris Thile? See Wikipedia:Verifiability.

I also don't think Thile's Loar is really famous in the sense that Bill Monroe's F-5 or the only known Loar A-5. Yes, Thile is famous, but his mandolin? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oblivy (talkcontribs) 02:34, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Invention

[edit]

Although this article states that Loar invented the archtop mandolin, and seems to me to imply that he invented the archtop guitar, the articles on Orville Gibson and archtop guitars state that Gibson himself invented these instruments. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Messor (talkcontribs) 21:44, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
