[edit]Llan on its own is insufficiently significant (judging by the current article) to be a separate article, when it is in fact a part of Llanbrynmair community (see [1]). There is a Llanbrynmair article, which already lists Llan, and other settlements. Folks at 137 (talk) 18:58, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
/* Discussion */ I agree that the current page on Llan is currently very small. But i do believe that it should remain a different page, There is a different history associated with Llan than Llanbrynmair. Llan used to be called Llanbrynmair, I am not aware of the reasons of the change. They are seperate although being a part of the area. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.0.110.53 (talk) 19:45, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I also agree that the current page on Llan is small but believe that it should remain a different page as it is quite separate geographically from the village of Llanbrynmair
From http://www.llanbrynmair.com/ :
"The community of Llanbrynmair - St. Mary's on the Hill - is so called because of the position and dedication of its Parish church, which stands on the very summit of a rounded hill. The "Llan", the church, and its surrounding hamlet lost its dominance in the community with the opening of a new turnpike road in 1821 and the coming of the railway in 1861. These two developments resulted in the hamlet of Wynnstay, two miles to the north , becoming the focal point of most community affairs. Its name came from the Wynnstay Arms Hotel and that reminds us that until recently the greater part of the community belonged to the extensive Wynnstay Estate with generations of the families of Sir Watcyn Williams Wynne being the landlords." Cities project
[edit]Please check scope of project before deleting. The project includes all settlements of whatever size. "Cities" is just a convenient (albeit misleading) title. Folks at 137 (talk) 06:07, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
