Why is this classified as a story collection rather than a novel?

[edit]

The first paragraph says that some critics describe Lives of Girls and Women as a novel, but does anyone not describe it as a novel? The words "A Novel" are clearly visible on the cover, the author's note says "This novel is autobiographical in form but not in fact," and none of the chapters appeared anywhere else before publication. Shouldn't it be classified as a novel? Mwphil (talk) 01:03, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In the absence of a good reason not to call it a novel, I'll be making the change. Mwphil (talk) 13:59, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
