It's a bit tricky, cuz tbe lists only seem to include bands that are appearing at the venue in person. Like Celine Dion is 99.9% confirmed to be performing via satellite from Las Vegas for the Canadian show, but she's not listed on their setlist. --Madchester July 2, 2005 14:40 (UTC)

I changed the list from alphabetical order to first of all, the order given by The Guardian newspaper, then to the one I found minutes later on the BBC website. I also overspeculated, sorry about that. Edits Being Completed immediately following the concert

I don't want to make these edits as they are just ideas, and I know the sections are being edited as I speak (I am actually saying all of this out loud).

I think there could be a case for replacing "Television Coverage" as a category with "Media coverage". Live 8 London was covered by TV, Radio, various internet streams (AOL had the rights to live video). There is a slight problem with this categorisation, tho', since "Media Coverage" could be seen to imply later newspaper coverage of L8L. Maybe "Live Media Coverage" covers that base.

Sgt Pepper

See [1] It was performed every show during his 1989 world tour, where he and his band did "Sgt. Pepper's", then a long instrumental jam section, then "Sgt. Pepper's (reprise)". I saw it meself! Hmmm. Maybe he got confused with "Helter Skelter"; I believe this was only the second time ever "Helter Skelter" has been played in concert (Paul did it in 2003 in St. Petersburg for the first time). But "Sgt. Pepper" has definitely, positively been played many times before.

Sting

Bob Geldoff and Travis

I'm 99% sure that "I Don't Like Mondays" was not performed with Travis. WestJet

I concur! I think someone may be mixed up because what actually happened was that, with Geldof's performance only being a last-minute thing (or so they want us to believe), the backing band just used some of the Travis equipment.

London Gospel Choir

There should be a mention to the london Gospel Choir, who sang with Madonna.
