Deletions

[edit]

Why were two sentences deleted without comment in these edits? Badagnani (talk) 08:16, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the lack of comments. The sentences were removed because Liuzhou coffins were not made of Nanmu. The information was inaccurate. I have re-edited to give a cited explanation of the wood types. Liuzhou (talk) 06:05, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your expertise. Badagnani (talk) 06:20, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tourist information

[edit]

I just removed a long section of tourist information which was clearly inappropriate, not only for it's length but for the detail (opening times, phone numbers, bus details), as specified in WP:NOTTRAVEL. After removing it I did a quick search and it further seems to be copyright material, copied from here, so could not be used even on travel related wikimedia projects. --JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 00:12, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Liuchow Airfield

[edit]

A prior version of Hefei Luogang International Airport might have more information as well, but as the previous editor confused Liuzhou, Luzhou, and Hefei into one location, I had no idea what should go where prior to someone rechecking the original sources. — LlywelynII 17:33, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged videos of occupation and recovery here. — LlywelynII 17:35, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The 'It was formerly known as Liuchow' strikes me as odd: it seems much more likely that is the same name with a different romanization. 'Liuzhou' is Pinyin but Pinyin has only been around since the 1950s, so in the 1940s another romanization would have been used, or even none: if someone heard the name and didn't know Pinyin they could have spelled it 'Liuchow'. It could even be the name in Yue or Zhuang, both of which would still be in use.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 18:47, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'Liuchow' is the Wade-Giles romanization. It is neither Yue or Zhuang. In Zhuang it is 'Liujcouh'. Liuzhou (talk) 06:36, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Noodles

[edit]

Maybe there should be mention of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luosifen - the wildly popular noodles that originated in Liuzhou. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.114.92.25 (talk) 02:14, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
