Comment on moving Liu Changqing to Liu Zhangqing
[edit]The poet's name is pronounced as Liú Zhǎngqīng in Standard Chinese. However, since 長 is a common character that can also be pronounced as cháng, many people have been pronouncing the name wrong (including some scholars). In the Chinese-language academics, the pronunciation has been debated and long been settled as Liú Zhǎngqīng, but this knowledge seems to have not yet reached English world. - P.s. It seems that a lot of the online sources are copied from Wikipedia. Sounds like WP:CITOGEN, but thankfully, the wrong pronunciation has been around for ages, long before the page was created in 2010. SuperGrey (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
