Needed - The Chemical Structure of Lithium as a graphic
[edit]Please someone add the chemical structure of Lithium Carbonate on the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.133.117.59 (talk) 22:36, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Indented line I don't know, it's a salt composed of lithium and carbonate, it wouldn't add much to a picture of carbonate.
Lithium Citrate?
[edit]The medical section talks about 7-Up's use of Lithium Citrate. This article is about Lithium CARBONATE. A little sidetracked, methinks? I'll try and deal with it myself, maybe. -guest —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.9.1 (talk) 03:22, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Chemical Interference
[edit]The article says lithium carbonate interferes with the chemical reaction involved in nerve impulses. I think (not sure) this is a mistake, the lithium just changes the charge on the outside of the neuron (since neurons don't pump lithium) making it more difficult to reach the voltage that causes a nerve impulse.
Meandering Prose Ahead
[edit]This article is very disjointed. Some sentences just don't make sense. For example, lithium's side effects, whether profound or not, have no bearing on the statistical significance of studies of its efficacy to treat mania. Why is it hoped that lithium will be used as an anti-inflammatory in the future? I hope so only if it is efficacious. Perhaps the writer meant that some hope that lithium will be useful. To my knowledge, lithium salts do not cause addiction even at a high dose, and I have never even heard of lithium addiction, so where's that coming from? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.69.129.224 (talk) 02:45, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
