I am currently involved in a discussion regarding the terms 'actor' and 'actress', and believe that these are two distinct terms for male and female performers, respectively. I have faced quite a bit of backlash regarding this by editors who believe the two terms are interchangeable.
If they are correct, and the terms 'actor' and 'actress' are indeed interchangeable, gender-neutral terms, this page (and associated lists) should either 1)include male performers or 2)be removed completely.
If the terms are NOT interchangeable (as I firmly believe) and there truly IS a distinction between 'actor' and 'actress', the page and lists should not be changed. Does anyone have any references, thoughts or opinions they would like to share regarding this matter? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chimchongchiggedydo (talk • contribs) 23:36, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
