Thanks, Whisperjanes, for preparing this list. If you have time, it might be useful to include dates, nationality and one or two basic items on occupation, along the lines of List of women in mathematics or List of women photographers. You might also like to add a few illustrations. Please let me know if you need help with this.--Ipigott (talk) 09:21, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ipigott: That's a wonderful suggestion, thank you! I should have time to work on this, but feel free to add anything you'd like as well. - Whisperjanes (talk) 16:32, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Whisperjanes: Great to hear you want to work on it. I've created many lists of women in various occupations over the years and have received encouraging reactions from individuals and associations. It seems to me that unless we add meaningful information, we might just as well use associated categories. I think you also made a similar list earlier. Perhaps we can also work on that one as well.--Ipigott (talk) 18:59, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Ipigott: Right, that makes sense. I always thought even if a list only has links, it still works well for readers who aren't used to navigating Wikipedia's category system, but I agree a list with more information than just a list of names would be best.
You know what's ironic? Right after I read your original note, I already ran into an hours-long snag of research, when attempting to verify the date of birth for the first person on this list! Funny that it's the very first thing I went to add, and it seems to be unsourced in the original article. I might be on that rabbit hole for a good rest of the day, but will get back to this list soon. - Whisperjanes (talk) 19:22, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Whisperjanes: I wouldn't spend to much time on researching missing dates of birth or death. You can always use years of activity with fl. If the names are blue-linked to a biography, it's not strictly necessary to include references in the list but I see you already have them for most names. As most of the names are already included in one of the women artists lists, you can just copy details from there.--Ipigott (talk) 06:49, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
