Goal for development of this page
[edit]Hi! I'd love to develop this page with galleries for each artist to show the works that were actually displayed in the Armory show: in effect, recreating the portion of the Armory show that involved women artists. Since all of the works were displayed in 1913, they are out of copyright in the USA. The catalogs of the show often indicate what works were shown. Websites like The Armory Show at 100 have extensive information about the works shown. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 10:59, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
External links moved to talk
[edit]As none of these are specific about the women artists in the show, I've moved them here in case they can be used as references: --Ronz (talk) 01:34, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
- Smithsonian, Archives of American Art, Walt Kuhn scrapbook of press clippings documenting the Armory Show, vol. 2, 1913. Armory Show catalogue (illustrated) from pages 159 through 236
- Catalogue of international exhibition of modern art Association of American Painters and Sculptors. Published 1913 by the Association in New York
- Partial list of artists in the 1913 Armory Show, askart
- The Armory Show at 100 from the New York Historical Society
- International exhibition of modern art by Shelley Staples at the University of Virginia
- I've put these back, based on the guideline that supports inclusion of external links "Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that is relevant to an encyclopedic understanding of the subject", since these sites establish context for the show more broadly, and are therefore useful to understanding the position of women artists in the show.
- This article isn't about the show in general, rather just a list of the women artists in the show, so any external links need to be of similar scope. Armory Show has the many of the same and similar external links, but if there's some missing that you feel are not redundant, then add them there.
- Please note that WP:ELBURDEN requires that we have consensus for inclusion so editors will focus on improving articles rather than adding links. --Ronz (talk) 16:16, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
