Franco-Dutch War

[edit]

- The war led to large French territorial expansion - France emerged from the war as Europe's premier power - The Dutch making a separate led to a reputation of diplomatic perfidy - The peace with the Dutch shattered the grand alliance - While averting complete disaster that was 1672 for the Dutch, the alliance ultimately failed to suppress the French FR1914 (talk) 16:40, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

- Treaties were overall favourable to France
- Lasting territorial gains that ultimately encompass much of its modern borders
- Failure to prevent gains in the Spanish Netherlands FR1914 (talk) 16:47, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Dutch Republic secured a favourable trade treaty and all of its territory, both in Europe and over seas. The gains of France came at the expense of Spain. Move

[edit]
