Unreliable source
I recently brought the most used source on this page ""States and Municipalities with Laws Regulating Use of Electronic Cigarettes" to WP:RSN, you can find that section here. When the subject of the reputation for fact checking and editorial control was discussed it was pointed out this source is not reliable. This is in line with the first sentence of WP:RS "Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy.". These claims need to be sourced to reliable sources like new sites, newspapers, etc. I am not going to tag bomb the page but those editors wishing to keep claims on this page should be searching for reliable sources. After a few weeks we will see what can be sourced, and what cant. AlbinoFerret 16:53, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
- According to the archived discussion the source is reliable. See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_197#Is_this_source_reliable_for_laws_and_ordinances_of_cities_and_towns.3F. QuackGuru (talk) 00:25, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- I can't see any consensus in that discussion to state that this source is reliable. In fact amongst e-cig regulars it was viewed 50:50, and amongst non-regulars it was considered dubious. So to claim that the source is reliable by that discussion is wrong! Ronz's comment on using it as a resource for identifying sources instead seems to be the way to go. --Kim D. Incorrect quote
The first paragraph quotes Judge Leon as saying "the devices should be regulated as tobacco products rather than drug or medical products."
That was never said. It was simply said that electronic cigarettes were not drug delivery systems.
The fact that the FDA deeming regs attempting to deem electronic cigarettes as tobacco products further proves that the FDA is not regulating electronic cigarettes at this point.
There is a huge difference between saying "They are not drug delivery products" and "They are tobacco products". They are, at this point, neither.
The judge's ruling on the case is here: [1]

Proposal to add Broome County, New York
- Broome County, New York, banned in and near county buildings.[1] QuackGuru (talk) 16:21, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- You don't have to propose it. You just need to properly cite it so it can be verified.--TMCk (talk) 19:28, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- I think the proposal is sourced. See "(WBNG Binghamton) Broome County is cracking down on electronic cigarettes by banning their use in and near county buildings"[2] QuackGuru (talk) 20:19, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- You need to properly cite it not here but in the article. Take a look at the welcome notice at your talk page archives to learn more.--TMCk (talk) 20:38, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- Is it properly cited? I think it is. Is there any specific objection to adding the proposal to the article? QuackGuru (talk) 20:42, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Temporary protection
Hi all. Have temporarily protected this article to bring a halt to the ongoing edit war. Can you all please discuss the issues here and reach a consensus on where the bans apply and what sources there are to support that, rather than edit-warring back and forth in the article itself? Page will be automatically unprotected in three days, which should hopefully be enough time to reach a common ground.
Happy to also discuss this protection action if required (note I know nothing about the issue, I'm just the janitor). -- Euryalus (talk) 23:43, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
- On further review, have reduced to semi-protection as it is evident from the page history that there is one single user edit warring against consensus from others. Suggest to Vapingisthefuture that they discuss their proposed changes here, including their sources, and seek to establish a consensus for their proposed change. -- Euryalus (talk) 23:50, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
