Zulu Time - Z
[edit]I note that UTC is referred-to as "Zulu Time" (abbreviated as "Z") on many meteorological sites, eg www.usno.navy.mil/NOOC/ . Their maps for instance refer to 1800UTC as 1800Z. Should "Z" be added to the list?

- Since nobody squealed, I've added it.

Listing by UTC offset
[edit]When you sort by UTC offset it starts with UTC+1, UTC+2 etc. to UTC+14, then it goes UTC-12, UTC±0 then UTC -1 through to -12, I think this is the wrong order and should be corrected to UTC -12 to UTC +14 (ie from furthest behind UTC to furthest in front). SSSB (talk) 11:16, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- I've now added data-sort-value, where it takes the offset in hours and minutes without colon, and adding it to 10000. So +08:00 is 10800 and -08:00 is 09200. So all positive times are just "1HHMM" for easier input.

Two more problems with using time zone abbreviations
[edit]It currently only lists one issue, being the ambiguity. But there are two more main issues:
- Some languages write the abbreviation differently in their language. Western European Time commonly being WET is WEZ in German, HEO in French, ZEČ in Czech, ΏΔΕ in Greek. So while the time and date would be fully readable in any language, the time zone might not: "2021-03-14 11:43 ZEČ".
- The same code might be used for different offsets for the same region. Example is Samoa. Back when they used summer time, both summer and winter time had the same code, making 1 hour ambiguous when they went back to winter time. Another issue was in 1879 when they went from +12 to -12 and repeated one day; both used the same abbreviation, so you can't tell which day is which. They've also used -11:30, -11 and -10. Making their abbreviation represent +14, +13, -10, -11, -11:30.
