[edit]There is a list compiled by Nikkan Sports here that includes the still-active Kenho (Sumo DB link) who reached 245.5kg in March 2014, retired Taiwanese Tominohana (Sumo DB link) at 241.5 kg in September 1991, and active Kainowaka (Sumo DB link) at 237 kg in September 2012. This seems a reliable source so they should probably be added.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 14:59, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Another one is Takatenshu, 214.5kg in 2013 and still active (Sumo DB link). Tigerboy1966 07:04, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- He of the viral 40-yard dash video? OK I'll add him!--Pawnkingthree (talk) 13:04, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Edits!
[edit]Please, add Komanokuni and Higonoumi, they are both active, and 222 kg. Please, edit Aoiyama and Toma, who are also active, but I have problems with adding this. I hope you won't delete what I wrote here. Хакухо (talk) 09:47, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Хакухо: I'll add Komanokuni and Toma. I don't see any active rikishi named Higonoumi - are you sure that's the right shikona? Aoiyama is under the 200kg cutoff - his peak weight as far as I can tell has been 193kg.-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 12:40, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
@Pawnkingthree:I'm sorry, that was T9. I meant Higonoryu, who was 208 kg at his maximum, not 222. And there is also active rikishi Takaryu who was 210 kg at his max, when he made juryo debut. I truly remember, that year ago Aoiyama was 203 kg, but NOW I can't give you any proof. When I have time, I will definitely find an article or something about this.
And also very important! Now we have SAKAEFUJI with 232 kilos. If you want, I can give you a link from Nihon Sumo Kyokai.-

- @Хакухо: Yes links from the Kyokai would be very useful, thanks. The Sumo Reference website is great but it hasn't updated any heights/weights for a couple of years now which is very frustrating!-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 14:06, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't doubt that you're correct that Sakaefuji is 232kg now but Sumo Reference only has 196.kg from November 2013 (!) And it's very difficult to find the rikishi profiles for non-sekitori on the Kyokai site. We do need a reliable source before he can be added.-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 15:54, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
@Pawnkingthree:Thank you for your anwser. So, the source is the official site of NSK sumo.or.jp, but I think, you can't find information about toriteki (rikishi lower than juryo) so easily on this site. But NSK has its official app - Grand Sumo, and every 2 months, when there is an official weight-in, they update information about ALL rikishi. So I can't give you the link, but you can download the app and check everything. You can be 100% sure that information there is true, because it is an official source. I will also check some rikishi, who can also weight more than 200 kg now. And some edits, that I made, are based on information from NSK in that app.
And we can see that Komanokuni (222 kg), Takatenshu (221 kg) and Sakaefuji (232 kg) are much heavier than they are listed on sumodb.sumogames.de -Хакухо (talk) 12:47, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
Also Hishofuji was 201 kg at his max. And I checked all active rikishi.so: Asabenkei is 200kg, Akinoyama is 205 kg, Dewanojo is 235(!!!). All other sumotori are listed. I'm really sorry that I give other people a lot of work, but I do as much as I can. Хакухо (talk) 22:59, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for all that checking. I didn’t realize how many we’d missed. Pawnkingthree (talk) 00:02, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Хакухо: Have now added all those you mentioned. Hopefully we are now complete, until the next weigh-in.-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 17:24, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
