About this list

[edit]

All authors have articles about them in this encyclopedia. The term textbook is interpreted as a text presenting spacetime from first principles. Mathematicians have been included since spacetime is a mathematical construct, relying on geometrical concepts. Novices may consult the articles on hyperbolic angle, squeeze mapping, and hyperbolic orthogonality that describe features of spacetime in relativity. Lorentz, Einstein, and Minkowski founded the school of cosmological relativity, but W. K. Clifford and Alexander Macfarlane anticipated the geometry. In the 1890s part of the birth of mathematical physics noted hyperbolic quaternions as a flawed system. — Rgdboer (talk) 01:10, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
