- Q: Why is building ... not listed?
- A: The first list in the article, the one under the header Tallest structure by category has a clear set of inclusion criteria:
- Only buildings that are currently the tallest in the world in a specified category can be listed.
- Not the second or third tallest.
- Not the tallest in the past or in the future (although those currently topped-out can be included).
- Not the tallest in your country/city.
- Not your favourite.
- There can only one entry per category (unless there is a tie like in the 'masonry building' category).
- Q: Why is the World Trade Center not listed in Tallest destroyed structures by category, not surpassed by existing structures section?
- A: The World Trade Center was surpassed in height by the Sears tower in 1998, three years before it was destroyed in the September 11 attacks.
