C. P. E. Bach

[edit]

The exact dating of the CPE Bach symphony is 1756 according to that source but more on the order of "by 1759" (date of publication) (and possibly by 1757, since the slow movement also appears in a G minor keyboard sonata published in that year- but could the sonata movement have been in the works first, or simultaneously?)... according to Wollney's Preface to the Symphonies Volume of the CPE Bach Edition ? However - I don't know; and the caveat on Schulenberg's page about scholarship through 1997 is worth noting. (Also, I should probably take this to Talk:Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach - or even the Talk section of the List of his compositions. Admitted. And probably will...) Any thoughts? William Nowik

[edit]

The user Wmnowik just added a reference to an old vinyl album by William Nowik called the "Pan Symphony in E minor". I'm not sure if that's Nowik himself or a fan. It was a bad edit (removed links, not in the table) so I reverted it but felt I should add a note about it here. Here is the allmusic.com link:[1]. Its not a symphony in the classical music sense, but is it worth mentioning here?DavidRF (talk) 15:20, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
