[edit]an awful lot of these links to go either disambiguation pages or relevant british/irish statutes. this would be less likely if the entire short title, including the year, was linked - is there any particular reason or local custom this isn't being done? Morwen - Talk 07:53, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- also, eh, what is going on with this list anyway? why is
Criminal Justice Act 1998 Amendment Act
being listed in the 1985 section???? do new zealand legislators have time machines? this seems widespread. Morwen - Talk 08:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've 'broken' links to overseas acts. This page generally has a lot of problems... it should probably be a category rather than a list since most of these Acts will probably never get pages. There should be some kind of standard way of distinguishing NZ acts from overseas ones of the same name. I would lean towards including 'New Zealand' in the title rather than the year, since the country name is more likely to be included in the search than the date. --Helenalex 01:38, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think the Act name should include the date and title because that is how the legislation is generally refered to in New Zealand. If you must then distinguish it from the other legislation then put the disambiguator (New Zealand) on the end. The problem I see with the list is that the original author has created the list from a date ordered list that lists the date of the last amending act, not the principal act that was ammended. It is probably useful to have this list so that one knows what articles are yet to be written about New Zealand legislation and as a starting point for authors writing new articles to get the title right, but in its present condition it is not extremely useful. Ordering by year of publication is probably not as useful as ordering alphabetically by title, though using the date and especially the last ammendment/publication date does ensure one gets all the ammendments too. -- Cameron Dewe 02:56, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
