Northern Ireland
[edit]Why doesn't Northern Ireland have a flag? Surely is suitable? – PeeJay 17:16, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- That is not the flag of Northern Ireland. O Fenian (talk) 17:40, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sure it is. But if that's a controversial topic, then I say we should remove flags from all of them. It's not like they play any practical use there anyway. – PeeJay 17:44, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- No, it is not. It ceased to be the flag of Northern Ireland in 1973. O Fenian (talk) 17:51, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- True, but the Ulster banner is used by Northern Ireland in the Commonwealth Games, and by Northern Irish football fans, it makes more sense to use all or none. 82.5.224.82 (talk) 22:36, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

Northern Ireland does not have a flag. A more pertinent question is why stadiums anywhere in Ireland should be listed in an article about British stadiums. There is already a substantial List of stadiums in Ireland which has (more accurate) details of the Irish grounds listed here. Brocach (talk) 16:23, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- As the title refers to British stadiums, and all the Irish stadiums listed here already appear in List of stadiums in Ireland and other lists or categories such as List of Gaelic Athletic Association stadiums, Category:Gaelic games grounds in Northern Ireland, Category:Sports venues in Northern Ireland, Category:Gaelic games grounds in Northern Ireland, Category:Gaelic games grounds, etc., I propose to delete stadiums in Ireland and adjust the into text to refer to Great Britain. Any views? Brocach (talk) 20:38, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think so. Stadiums in Northern Ireland are first and foremost British stadiums, regardless of the sport to which they may be affiliated. Thereafter they may be categorised as Irish stadiums if anyone particularly wants to do so. There is no problem with these stadiums appearing in more than one list, but anyone wanting a list of stadiums in Britain would surely want to see those of Northern Ireland included. To leave them out would be a significant omission. Van Speijk (talk) 21:15, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- It would be news to many of those who built GAA stadiums that their constructions were "first and foremost British". Nice that you acknowledge that they are Irish, though. Brocach (talk) 21:36, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Olympic Stadium
[edit]I noticed the Olympic stadium isn't on here, I know it hasn't officially opened yet but the construction is complete and it has a capacity of 80,000 making it the third biggest in the UK when it opens. I think it should be added ASAP when it opens. 82.5.224.82 (talk) 22:48, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
DAB football
[edit]For users coming places where word football is ambiguous(the uk for example) football can mean many sports. Should we use association football ? Gnevin (talk) 10:48, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
British/UK stadiums
[edit]For the purposes of avoiding ambiguity, if Northern Irish stadiums are to be included in this list would it not be pertinent to change the article name to List of stadiums in the UK (which would conform, for example, with List of stadiums in Ireland)? Otherwise if the article name is to remain the same, would we not remove Northern Irish stadiums from the list since they are included in the aforementioned Irish list? --Schcambo (talk) 22:25, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
