pres wives 1919-45

[edit]

What a strange article, especially the section pres wives 1919-45. Hindenburg's wife is named although he was already a widower when he became pres. Thereafter we are informed that the position of First Lady of President was Vacant, as Adolf Hitler is unmarried at 2 August 1934 to 29 April 1945. Then we are acquainted with Eva, Hitler's wife for less than two days, and told that Hitler and/or Eva "took office" on 29 April 1945, the day of their marriage. And finally Dönitz with his "1st lady", designated as successor in Hitler's testament and arrested three weeks later. Sick. Or ridiculous. Tried some fixing anyway. --Vsop.de (talk) 18:58, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The "Spouse of Chancellor, Wives of Third Reich"-section is even more insane. Goebbels, appointed in Hitlers testament, as Chancellor for one day. And Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk as chancellor for three weeks, although he accepted the role of "Leading Minister" only but not the office of Chancellor offered him by Dönitz in the Flensburg Government. What a blessing that he was not married and therefore the position of First Lady of Germany, Spouse of Chancellor, remained "vacant". --Vsop.de (talk) 19:02, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

widowers

[edit]

Dear Mootros, if we keep Gertrud von Hindenburg (1860-1921), we cannot omit Konrad Adenauers marriages on 28 January 1904 with Emma née Weyer (1880–1916), and on 26 September 1919 with Auguste „Gussie“ née Zinsser (1895–1948) before he became chancellor in 1949. They are mentioned only in de:Konrad Adenauer#Familie und Privates.
de:Wilhelm Cuno married Martha née Wirtz (*1879) in 1906, but I found no hint whether they still were married when Cuno was appointed Chancellor on November 22, 1922. Franz von Papen in 1905 married Martha née von Boch-Galhau (1880–1961) and had one son and four daughters with her, cf.de:Friedrich Franz von Papen. Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk, too, was not a bachelor as I had assumed in the foregoing section but in 1918 had married Ehrengard née von Plettenberg (1895-1979) who bore him four sons and five daughters. ;-)) --Vsop.de (talk) 17:48, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
