North Sea data

[edit]

North Sea data dating back to 16th century This article has some great historic data from the North Sea in it, ripe for Wikipedia to enrich this global list with. www.vliz.be/imisdocs/publications/235238.pdf Danimations (talk) 03:11, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All strandings from the above source featuring more than 1 animal have now been added to the list. There are plenty of single animal strandings in the same source document which could also be added. Danimations (talk) 04:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mediterranean data deficiency

[edit]

This reference demonstrates the data deficiency of stranding accounts from the Mediterranean Sea. Sperm whales are referred to in the document as "Pm" but the document doesn't include details of individual events.. it lumps them together by year for statistical analysis. http://medaces.uv.es/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MEDACES_PROGRESS_REPORT_2009.pdf --Danimations (talk) 00:26, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Has the mass stranding of sperm whales at Cheynes Beach WA in 1968 been forgotten? 2001:8003:EC42:8601:4559:68F3:557E:48A6 (talk) 11:09, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
