This article needs some cleaning. Cleaning as in quotation marks, what album each song is from, year of release, and song notes/meanings from Mark, Tom, and Travis. Such info can be found here. Machu505 22:19, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Maybe it's better to list the songs alphabetically. That would make this article a bit less unnecessary...--GraafGeorge 01:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
My Boyfriend's Back
[edit]the song "my boyfriend's back" was not covered by blink. it was covered by mxpx and people have just spread rumours about travis singing. it should not be on this list. please remove. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.135.111 (talk) 19:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not going to revert this for now, but I will once, because of the following reasons:
- I can't find any evidence that Mxpx covered it. It's only on lyricswebsites, and that's not an evidence, off course, especially because the lyrics are no exact match to the 'alleged' Blink-version. Also, the voice on the track doesn't sound like Mike Herrera's voice at all.
- Cover versions of other groups also don't sound like the Blink-version.
- I do recognize Travis' voice as the lead vocal (especially in the spoken part in the beginning) and Mark's voice in the background.
- So, I'll put it back in a couple of days - unless you can prove me wrong.--GraafGeorge (talk) 20:11, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- hey i dont mean any offence, im not meaning to tread on toes seriously!! but it's most definitely not travis' or marks' voice. travis has a kind of squeaky voice, and mark's voice is way deeper. if you listen extremely carefully(in fact you don't have to listen that carefully), its DEFINITELY 150% not blink. if it's not mxpx, then it's another band but not blink.
- this happens with blink, nerf herder, me first and the gimme gimmes and goldfinger. there is no more proof i can give you other than i am a huge blink fan and could recognise all their voices instantly, and as soon as i heard that song it was blatantly obvious its not them. a lot of people have been suckered into this stuff i.e. seasons in the sun, phantom of the opera, 867-5309/Jenny etc, and they have all been attributed to a whole range of different bands, but blink NEVER covered them at all.
- further proof is at these two links:
- also the same goes for "lucky". (sorry i forgot to sign in earlier) Himynameissween (talk) 00:16, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're right about 'Lucky'. I'm one of the suckers that believed it. And about 'My Boyfriend's Back': probably it shouldn't be in this article, because indeed, there seems to be doubt. I never tought about de MFATGG-version. Spike's voice sounds close, and they've put their version on an album, so it could very well be them. But, you've got to admit it also sounds close to Travis' voice - don't forget we never heard him shout or sing loud. I'd say that's it's probably MFATGG- but you never know. Thanks for proving me wrong ;) --GraafGeorge (talk) 13:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
hey no probs man, i was suckered when i saw it too, but when i heard it it was definitely not blink!!
just didnt want it on the site so other people could be fooled!!
