What's the intention of this article?

[edit]

The article is quite incomplete and it seems too broadly scoped to try and complete it. What's the goal of the list? Every sonata ever written? DavidRF (talk) 14:40, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little mystified too. We list 11 of Haydn's piano sonatas, but he wrote 62! We list only a selection of Mozart's. What point is it making with these selected sonatas? -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 22:44, 28 December 2009 (UTC) Nevertheless, I've cleaned it up, formatting-wise. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 23:01, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Baroque Era

[edit]

There's no list of sonatas in the Baroque era. Kevon kevono (Talk page) 10:04 PM, April 16, 2016 (PT) —Preceding undated comment added 05:04, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Women are excluded

[edit]

I am horrified to find that these two lists exclude music by women. I do not have time to spend right now to add the many dozens of Sonatas by women that should be included. I challenge the previous editors to spend some time considering and addressing this issue. Have composers of racial minorities been excluded as well? 03:28, 28 December 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fan of composer Rebecca Clarke (talkcontribs)

I was always taught in school that Fanny Mendelssohn was a woman. Was I misinformed? And what "two lists" are we speaking of? This talk page is attached only to one. Further, at the bottom, I find a note reading, "This list is incomplete; you can help by expanding it." What is stopping you?—Jerome Kohl (talk) 03:35, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
