Was my edit correct?
[edit]SDSS J1228+1040 b doesn't even have a known mass, and PSR B1828-11 b doesn't even show up on exoplanet.eu? Yeah my edits are probably correct Cosmicwolfanimations (talk) 14:22, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- J1228 b does have a mass for the range of 60 – 600 km that is partially consistent with hydrostatic equilibrium for its density. PSR B1828–11 b is on exoplanet.eu and has a known mass that is also consistent with hydrostatic equilibrium. The radius of PSR B1828–11 b is very uncertain though. - Oh. And also, if objects have uncertainty, should they be removed? Also, I searched it up on there, it didn't pop up. Probably just a database change so it's suitable for mobile. Cosmicwolfanimations (talk) 22:38, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- I’m not sure about the uncertainty in this case since it appeared to be modelling based on basically guessing orbital inclination for what it would be if the planet was <109 cm (values of 0 – 80°), which is the maximum radius, since it would have to be 1 M☉. This gave values of 106 – 5×107 cm, this is presumably the acceptable range for this planet and can still be used, but not as an average. Also, it does appear on exoplanet.eu but you have to enable planet candidates. SpaceImplorerExplorerImplorer 08:32, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- according to this https://academic.oup.com/mnras/article/512/2/2446/6542453 PSR B1828-11 b isn't 0.01908 earth masses its actually 1.3 earth masses. Orangefanta120 (talk) 00:44, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- One must be careful. Sometimes planets are described in relation to Earth, sometimes in relation to Jupiter. And sometimes numbers are copied from one source to another without being converted. Dhrm77 (talk) 13:34, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

Merge SDSS J1228+1040 b into this article?
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was: proposal withdrawn by nominator. InTheAstronomy32 (talk) 11:33, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
Currently, the article on SDSS J1228+1040 b is just a tiny stub, with just a sentence and an infobox, and it's unlikely that it will be expanded in the future. Since the only relevant thing about it is its size, a merge with this list is more appropriate. InTheAstronomy32 (talk) 23:59, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose This is not a planet but is included here as the smallest known extrasolar object; a merge to exoasteroid would be better. However, there also seem to be multiple published papers that could be used to expand the article, perhaps at the title SDSS J1228+1040 (covering the entire system). Request to add picture(s) in the list
[edit]based on List of largest exoplanets where the pictures are used as illustration of specified planet(s), can we add pictures into the list since the picture can visualise the impression of specified planets (including Solar System's one)? @21.Andromedae@SevenSpheres Foxy Husky (talk) 03:43, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think you already know I disagree with this. These lists should not have artist's impressions next to planets; they are purely speculative and don't help inform readers. Different images next to each planet could imply known differences in appearance, which is not the case; this image made to depict Kepler-37b could plausibly depict most of the planets in this list. I do see other types of images in the linked list; size comparisons are kind of redundant since the list itself is a size comparison (and the current lead image helps illustrate relative sizes), while diagrams like light curves are unhelpful at a small size without context. Direct images aren't relevant to this list since no exoplanet this small has been imaged. SevenSpheres (talk) 04:02, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- It is a bit hard to have illustrations in the list, given that very few illustrations exist for the small exoplanets, but possible. 21 Andromedae (talk) 05:08, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
