Eris' and Orcus' slow rotations?
[edit]136199 Eris has since been shown to be mutually tidally locked to its large moon Dysnomia[1], and thus is now known to have a rotation period of 378.86 hours (15.786 days), which would put it between 10331 Peterbluhm and (252079) 2000 SY306.
On top of that, it is not confirmed, but very much plausible, that another dwarf planet, 90842 Orcus, is also mutually tidally locked to its large moon Vanth[2]. If so, that would put its rotational period at 228.94 hours (9.539 days), which would put it between (95355) 2002 CQ141 and (131381) 2001 KU39.
Eris' slow rotation is confirmed, whereas Orcus' is not, so should Eris' confirmed slow rotation be added to the list? What about Orcus'?

Numbering
[edit]Is there any easy way of changing the numbering for these? Someone has added Eris and just copied the row details, so there are now two row # 115s. JojoTNO (talk) 14:44, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
