Teri McKillop Girls College in Yeronga - real or fake?
[edit]I notice this school listed as current state high school. It was added by an IP editor and was the only contribution from that IP address. Having lived for many years in an adjacent suburb, I find it hard to believe I have never heard of this school supposedly established in 1954. Google searches fail to find any mention of it. The Website for the school does not exist and there is no record of it in the Internet Archive. I'm deleting the entry. If anyone has any evidence that this school exists, please reinstate it with an appropriate citation. Thanks. Kerry (talk) 08:30, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

Brisbane Central SS
[edit]To User:Kerry Raymond You reverted my edits to this article. I understand that the schools involved are actually in Spring Hill, Queensland and notBrisbane CBD. The Brisbane Central SS description is quite long and a stub could be created about Brisbane Central SS or the info can be moved to Spring Hill, Queensland. 122.60.168.131 (talk) 00:04, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
- There is already an article for Brisbane Central State School (because it is heritage listed, it is difficult to pass notability on primary schools otherwise). There no particular limit on what can be said in the notes field and there is no requirement that the same information cannot appear in multiple articles so long as it relevant to the topic of each article. The info in this note could (and I would argue should) appear in the list article, the Spring Hill article and the school article. As the the policy says "it's not paper". In this case, the fact that the school was known by other names is relevant to the list. A lot of the larger state schools had splits by sex or split off the infants, and most of those amalgamated again later. This confuses people who are looking for a school by the particular name they have seen. If anything, we need more of those notes, not fewer. Kerry (talk) 06:51, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
It breaks the formatting of the table
122.60.168.131 (talk) 00:22, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- There is no broken syntax, the table formatting is fine. Or are you saying that it displays strangely on *your* screen? If so, what are you seeing? If you are on a small device, you might do better to use the mobile view? This is always an issue with any Wikipedia article; they can be displayed on everything from a watches to a billboard -- the rendering software does its best to lay out the article as best it can depending on what it knows about the characteristics of the device but perfection can't always be achieved. Splitting schools in City of Ipswich between List of schools in Greater Brisbane and List of schools in West Moreton
[edit]Currently the urban schools in Ipswich are in the Greater Brisbane list while the rural schools are in the West Moreton list. Given that there is considerable suburban growth in Ipswich and a reader is unlikely to know whether a given area is deemed rural or urban (indeed, I am not sure I know myself), I propose that all of City of Ipswich schools are included in the Greater Brisbane list article. Your thoughts? Kerry (talk) 01:54, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
