Bombay Rum

[edit]

I have heard several people talk about Bombay Rum, apparently from India, but I cannot find it or even much reference to it on the web. Does it exist? Is it called something else? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.224.178.159 (talk) 19:57, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the wikilinks here link to the wrong place. Someone should go through and check all of them. Rees11 (talk) 13:30, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ron Centenario

[edit]

User Ian.thomson deleted[1] the addition of 'Ron Centenario' from Costa Rica with the only explanation "non-notable". Yet, a quick search for 'Ron Centenario' on google gives over 7 million hits. Unless there is some particular reason this is considered non-notable I will add it again. 85.230.137.182 (talk) 17:04, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Does it meet the general notability guidelines of this site? Just because something exists does not mean it belongs on this site. Are there reliable (as defined by this site) third-party publications (unaffiliated with Ron Centenario) that discuss Ron Centenario? Simply having Google hits does not mean that someone or something is notable. 17:07, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
What would you consider a reliable source for rum notability that the other items on the list meet?85.230.137.182 (talk) 17:22, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here are the reliable sourcing guidelines. Publications unaffiliated with Ron Centenario that are not self-published (i.e. no blogs, no forum posts, no user-submitted reviews, and no wikis) discussing Ron Centenario for more than a fleeting mention would work. It's not what I consider notable, it's the site's guidelines. Ian.thomson (talk) 17:28, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but could you give some examples of some of the other rums on the list, say the 'St. Lucia Distillers' one for example? 85.230.137.182 (talk) 17:36, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. I've removed that entry as well. I'm not some sort of God-computer, I'm human and can only catch new entries at particular moments. Ian.thomson (talk) 17:43, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seven Fathoms - Cayman Islands Rum

[edit]

Should Seven Fathoms not be added to the list? It's been around a few years now, and available not only in Cayman but in rum shops all over the Caribbean.

It's bloody delicious as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.201.220.10 (talk) 12:27, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a secondary source? That is, a source unaffiliated with Seven Fathoms rum. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:09, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mauritius produces good agricole rums

[edit]

New England Rums

[edit]

There is a huge selection of craft rums from New England, a region that's historically known for its rum production. Is there any particular reason not to include these producers? Is their production too small, or not specialized enough? Some of them may be owned by larger companies, but I believe most of these aren't.

To name a few: Ragged Mountain Rum Old Ipswitch Hurricane Rum Thomas Tew Rum Bully Boy Boston Rum Privateer Rum Eight Bells Rum Medford Rum Rums by Maine Craft Distilling Smuggler's Rum Dunc's Mill Maple Rum Mad River Distillers' Rums Sea Hagg Silver Rum — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.115.151.65 (talk) 22:50, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SelvaRey California or Panama?

[edit]

SelvaRey rum is actually distilled in Panama and is a Panamanian rum. Shouldn't it be listed under Panama since it isn't distilled in California? I think that's an important distinction. 50.5.238.182 (talk) 16:25, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
